Single turnover up and single turnover down for your coverstich machine
You’re sewing your new favorite piece and want to hem it on the coverstitch machine. But before that, you need to measure everything exactly, pin it and preferably iron it. That sucks!
>> END THIS MADNESS <<
With the single envelope, you can easily thread your fabric edge through the “snail” and start covering right away. If you have positioned the single turnover beforehand so that the needles enclose the edge, you will have a perfect result with time saved!
The best thing is that you can use the single envelope both up and down. To do this, simply pull the screw off the bar, turn it around and put it back on. This gives you the freedom to decide whether you want the trendy loop seam on the right or left side of the fabric.
The single hem comes in a set of 15mm and 25mm widths, so you can use it to sew all common hems with a professional result.

Which screws do I need for the single envelope?
That depends entirely on your coverstitch model. Unfortunately there is no uniform standard size, so we tried to create a small cheat sheet for you in the overview above, if you don’t already know what size you need. Ideally, you look in the booklet accompanying your machine or ask someone who has an appropriate measuring device and can measure the thread width for you. We already have the two most common sizes as a set in our store.
head diameter = 11 mm
Thread diameter = 3mm
Thread length = 8mm oder 12mm
head diameter = 14 mm
Thread diameter = 4mm
Thread length = 8mm oder 12mm
Assembly of the screws:
The knurled screws can be fastened directly into the holes with the fingers without any further tools. The grooves on the edge of the screw make it easy to grip and tighten the screw heads.
Why do you need a single envelope for your coverlock anyway?
You are putting so much time, love and effort into finding the right pattern, fabric selection, annoying cutting and of course sewing the fabrics together. Do you really want to waste more time pinning and ironing your hems? No! Simply screw on the coverstitch, thread the fabric and start sewing.
What are the advantages of the Schnittenliebe single envelope compared to the products of other manufacturers, for example. the Babylock single foldover?
- Universal Usage
Our single envelope is designed to fit almost all popular coverlock models. The single envelope therefore fits not only models from Babylock, W6, Singer, etc., but also machines from many different suppliers. The long slit offers you many possibilities to attach it individually to your coverlock. When you change your coverstitch machine, you can just take the single shifter with you!
- Creative people want it individual: choose your favorite color!
The Schnittenliebe single envelope is available in 6 chic colors and of course you can choose your favorite color.
- Locally produced
As with the other Schnittenliebe products, the single envelope is developed in Germanybut they are still manufactured in the company’s own production facilities today. By buying our single envelope you support a local company.
- Sustainability through durability
The single envelope is made of modified polyethylene terephthalate (short PET-G). It is a thermoplastic material known to most people in the form of PET bottles. In households with children you have to ensure enclosed small parts are not swallowed! It is food-safe. However, you should not expose the product to excessive heat (e.g. iron, dishwasher, etc). The single shifter is made with a 3D printer, “printed”, so to speak, which gives the surface of the product a very special texture.
How to attach the single envelope to your coverstitch machine?
Attaching the single envelope is really a piece of cake due to the screw holes already present on your machine.
- Remove already mounted screws.
- Place the bar of the single envelope on the machine and fix it with your two screws for the time being. If you lack the space, it also works with only one screw.
- Choose your hem width (scroll with 15mm or 25mm width) and thread the fabric into it.
- Slide the scroll onto the bar.
- Adjust again, if necessary, so that the needle of the coverlock catches the edge of the fabric well.
Great, then you only need to chooseyourfavorite colorfrom one of the 6 beautiful colors and off you go!
